DIPLOMA/MASTER OF ARTS IN

URBAN AND REGIONAL PLANNING

Diploma/ Master of Arts in Urban and Regional Planning is offered by UP Mindanao to enable professional planners to respond more effectively to the steadily increasing demands of development. This program will equip urban and regional planners with knowledge and skills to be able to carryout the national policy of comprehensive planning and development. 

To qualify for the Master’s Program a student must have a weighted average of  “1.75” or better in their Diploma Program and upon the recommendation of the Program Adviser and approval of the Dean.

CURRICULUM

The curriculum leading to the DURP degree program consists of seven 3-unit subjects and one 5 unit suubject over the 2 years duration of the program. The following are the courses:

Admission Requirements

Admission into the DURP Program requires

(a) a bachelor’s degree in form a recognized institution of higher learning

(b) a minimum weighted average grade of 2.5 or its equivalent,

(c) relevant work experience of at least two years,

(d) a favorable letter of recommendation from a former superior and at least one other person who is well acquainted with, but not related to the applicant, 

(e) passing the Graduate Admission Test, and

(f) favorable assessment of interview results

The complete application forms must be submitted to the CHSS Office of the College Secretary, along with the following:

1. Official Transcript of Records

2. Letter of Recommendation

3. Application and Examination Fee

4. Certificate of Good Moral Character

5. Honorable Dismissal from Previous School Attended
