A total of 55 persons, composed of newly-designated and continuing officials and point-persons, attended the ISO Orientation and Onboarding Session on the Quality Management System (QMS), held online on May 16, 2025.
The Quality Assurance Office (QAO) organized the online session to orient newly-appointed unit heads and newly-designated personnel on the principles and implementation of the QMS. The session was also opened to teaching and administrative staff who had previously attended ISO 9001:2015 orientation sessions who wished to refresh or deepen their understanding of the standard.
“Participation in this session is highly encouraged as it will help align your respective offices with the University’s commitment to quality assurance and continuous improvement,” stated the QAO memo.
Consequently, an equal mix of new and continuing point-persons attended and actively participated by contributing comments and asking relevant questions in the session.
UP Mindanao was recommended by TUV-SUD, an ISO auditing and certifying firm, in December 2024 and officially received its certification in February 2025. UP Mindanao is subject to another audit review later in 2025.
