UP Mindanao Trains New Set of Internal Auditors and Document Controllers for ISO 9001:2015

A new batch of designated personnel completed a five-day training on the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) held from July 14 to 18, 2025, at UP Mindanao. The training continued successfully despite an extended power interruption on the final day.

Organized by the Office of the Quality Assurance, the training is part of the university’s preparations for the Internal Quality Audit (IQA) scheduled for August 5–7, 2025. The IQA also serves as groundwork for the upcoming External Surveillance Audit in November 2025.

In a memorandum, Associate Professor Ritchie May Gamot, Director of Quality Assurance, emphasized the importance of the initiative: “The designation of additional personnel is aimed at increasing the number of Document Controllers and Internal Auditors, both of which are essential in maintaining and enhancing our quality management system.”

ISO consultant Mr. Perfecto Cagaanan Jr. facilitated the intensive training sessions, which covered core principles of ISO 9001:2015.

Prof. Gamot encouraged all offices to continue supporting the university’s quality assurance initiatives: “We strongly encourage each office to take part in this initiative by designating representatives who are committed and capable of performing the responsibilities related to document control and internal audit functions.”

The training affirms UP Mindanao’s commitment to continuous improvement, compliance, and institutional excellence through quality systems development and personnel capacity-building.
