VP for Development Daniel Peckley Jr. hears UPMin infra and land project updates

 UP Vice President for Development Daniel Peckley Jr. met with UP Mindanao officials and its partners to discuss the various campus infrastructure and land use projects, and to give advise, where applicable, to address the various issues and concerns. OVPD staff members Stephen George Sy and Terrence Milo accompanied the vice president.

On May 6, 2025, VP Peckley met with Davao City and UPMin officials to hear updates on the Davao City Public Hospital project. The city-owned hospital will be built on the campus at no cost to UP. The UP Board of Regents approved the memorandum of agreement between UP and the Davao City government at its 1363rd Meeting on 26 August 2021. Asst. City Administrator Atty. Janis Louis Esparcia shared updates alongside fellow officials, Atty. Karmela Tongo, Atty. Marlie Munoz, and Ana Luz Gilot. Chancellor Lyre Anni Murao, Vice-Chancellor Leo Manuel Estana, and Campus Architect Oliver Telmo likewise shared updates from their end.

VP Peckley also held discussions on the campus infrastructure projects with Chancellor Murao, VC Estana, and staff members of the Campus Planning and Development Office, headed by Asst. Prof. Jean Marie Juanga, on April 7, 2025. The discussions dwelt on details of the infrastructure projects and the corresponding contracts. The vice president gave attention to the ongoing projects at the Sports Complex, such as the Aquatics Center.

VP Peckley likewise spent time to learn about the UP Mindanao Land Reservations, together with his colleagues in the OVPD who attended online, including AVP Karen Ann Jago-on. Land Reservation Management Office (LRMO) Chief Joel Sagadal conveyed the past and present status of the two reservations located in Davao City and Davao de Oro Province. Staff members Carol Balgos and Alessa Carbonell contributed to the presentation.
