Anthropogenic Global Warming, Lecture at UPMin

“Anthropogenic Global Warming: Beyond the Hype, Doing the Right Thing For the Right Reason”, will be the subject of Biologist Dr. Perry S. Ong’s lecture on Wednesday, May 14. It will be viewed live, via video-conferencing at UP Mindanao, Mintal, Davao City . The lecture, which is open to the public, begins at exactly 2:00 p.m. at the Audio-Visual Room, College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

UP Centennial Lectures in May

The UP Centennial Lecture Series continues on May 7 (Wednesday) at 2:00-4:00 p.m. on "Secular Morality and the University" by Prof. Emmanuel S. de Dios, a Centennial Fellow. The lecture will be beamed live via video-conferencing from UP Diliman to the AVR, CHSS, UP Mindanao, Mintal, Davao City. The public is invited, admission is free of charge.

UPMin Faculty Pass PhilNITS

UP Mindanao faculty members Professor Vanessa Ramoran and Instructor John Vincent Miro passed the Philippine National I.T. Standards (PhilNITS) Certification Exams for Fundamental Engineers (FE) held last April 6. Only three of the 70 examinees passed the rigorous examination. PhilNITS certificate holders are recognized by the Government of Japan and are qualified to apply for working visas to Japan and have bigger chances of working in Japanese business process outsourcing companies.

UP Mindanao is calling on those who passed the UP College Admissions Test (UPCAT) to make their confirmations until May 15, 2008 at UP Mindanao, Mintal, Davao City. University Registrar, Prof. Karen Joyce Cayamanda announced that this is an extension of the confirmation period (formerly April 4).
